Join LACONI TSS for this interactive, hands-on workshop which introduces participants to cataloging “Library of Things” resources using original RDA and MARC21.

Moving beyond traditional materials, the session focuses on describing non-book items such as tools, kits, games, and equipment, with an emphasis on applying current best practices (including OLAC guidelines). Participants will work through real-world examples, building confidence in handling challenging resource types. Key MARC fields, content/carrier considerations, and description strategies will be explored in a practical, accessible way. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with tools, strategies, and sample approaches they can immediately apply in their own libraries.
